Smartideas designed and installed a high end security system for their new 200 storage unit facility in South Yorkshire. With 24/7 access to the storage units SCA required an automated access control system to allow extended opening hours for additional security and convenience.

Smart Ideas UK worked closely with SCA Self Storage to design a solution that would meet their requirements.
Two high-speed swing gate motors were installed on the double gates and controlled with a Videx GSM intercom system.
The digital GSM is the latest development from Videx, employing mobile phone technology to operate automatic gates, doors and remote site installations. Up to 2000 telephone numbers can be stored to take advantage of the dial to open feature which enables callers to dial the digital GSM and release the gate without being charged for the call.
To ensure gate safety compliance resistive end safety edges were installed on the gates alongside synchronised photocell sensors to ensure vehicle and pedestrian safety.
Additional override ACT vandal proof digital keypads were installed to open and close the Automatic Swing Gates.
